Cooking in the woods

This Friday 14th May 7.30 to 9.00 at Bentley Marsh Coppice we will learn the art of lighting fires in the woods and will cook some food in an outdoorsy, leaves for garnish sort of way.

All our time at Bentley Marsh is working towards the Survival Skills badge - not one that many Scouts achieve!

We will train and learn skills through the term, ending in a full Bear Grylls type 24 hour survival camp where you will build your own shelter, cook roadkill (only kidding) and generally get dirty and smelly by doing things that your mates at school haven't even dreamed of.

To book for Friday please cut and paste the following link. PARENTS PLEASE NOTE - please book in your childs name - it makes it much easier checking Scouts in on arrival.  Thank you.

Pair of old gloves that won't melt near a fire and you don't mind getting damaged.

Follow the road  to Wykey from Ruyton XI Towns, past Packwood Haugh school, through Wykey and after a kilometre take the first turn right. Continue down this straight lane and Bentleys Marsh Coppice is on the right, look out for the sign. There is a small pull in to drop-off. Be aware the road over the railway to Henbarns / Haughton is closed to cars.
