Pioneering is the art of using ropes and wooden spars joined by lashings and knots to create a structure.
We will have 3 sessions to earn the Pioneering Badge - parts 1 and 2 are this week and next, part 3 will be on a Sunday in May or June at the woods where we will build some monkey bridges.
This week will be learning the knots and lashings that will be vital in bridge construction (important, otherwise your monkey bridge will end up as a mess of spars and rope at the bottom of the ravine).
Week 2 we will construct a miniature project in the warmth of the hut using the skills leaned in week 1.
