Welcome to 2020 and to the first of another full year of amazing Boreatton Scout Troop adventures! 

Sunday 12th January at Bentley Marsh Coppice - 10am to 4pm 

You will be honing all those skills of shelter building, fire lighting, backwoods cooking, gadget making, tracking skills and a couple of wide games too. 

Please don't forget that Scout subs of £40 are due now for the term.  Cash (in an envelope with the Scouts name on), cheque payable to Boreatton Scout Group or bank transfer [Ask Phil for details]

Kit required -  you will need to bring to this session a basic kit of fleece top , base layer,  tough outdoor trousers, strong boots/shoes, waterproof coat, work/garden gloves, hat, layers to keep you warm, all in a rucksack containing a drink, you will also need a  plate, knife, fork, spoon and mug, personal first aid kit and something to sit on like a camp mat or folding stool. You could also put together a survival kit, check on-line to see what adventurers like Bear Grylls reccommend. 

First Important bit - Please also bring your uniform short, necker and woggle. This must be worn to the Woods and at the end of the session, thank you. During the session your uniform needs to go safe in a waterproof bag. 

Second Important bit - Please bring food that can be cooked on your campfire and enough to share with at least one other Scout, thank you. Sharing, cooking and eating together are key parts of being a Scout. 

We will supply bushcraft knives or you can bring your own locking/fixed blade knife which must be handed in to a Leader on arrival. No penknives or multitools.

Follow the road  to Wykey from Ruyton XI Towns, past Packwood Haugh school, through Wykey and after a kilometre take the first turn right. Continue down this straight lane and Bentleys Marsh Coppice is on the right, look out for the sign. There is only a small pull in to drop-off in so a rapid turn around please, thank you.
