Training Hike No. 1 Sunday 20th January
Registration Day
Meeting point - Kinnerley Village Hall car park, Kinnerley SY10 8BD at 10am
Finish & Collection - 4pm at The Hut
We will be hiking back to The Hut tackling elements of the Navigators badge along the way. Once back at The Hut we will register the teams and run through the 6 Summits Challenge, what you need to know and bring.
To be eligible to take part you will need to be 12 or will be 12 by the 4th May next year.
There is a small fee and decent kit is a must, don't forget Scouts who take their necker into Go Outdoors get a discount - walking boots and a warm sleeping bag are invaluable!!

For all walkers the following
must be carried in a rucksack, comfy padded shoulder straps and hip belt will
help – capacity of 35 litres should do it.
Everything
in RED will be kit checked. Without these items in your
rucksack (or being worn) you will not be allowed to start walking:

For 2019 we are aiming for two teams. A Full expedition team who will carry all their camping kit [we expect this will be an Explorer and older Scout team] and a Scout team who just need to carry a daysac as their kit will be transported by the Boreatton Support Crew.
Each training session will teach you the skills you will need to be successful in this unique challenge event - navigation, first aid, trangia stive cooking, kit care and teamwork.
Corndon Hill, Stiperstones, Long Mynd, Caer Caradoc, Wenlock Edge and Brown Clee - Shropshire's 6 Summits all ready to be conquered in 2019! Boreatton have now sent 5 successful teams to take part in the 6 Summits Challenge, each team taking on the big hills of South Shropshire with courage and big grins! Now its your turn......
