Wilder in the Woods

This Friday 29th June we will have a bushcraft night
between 7.30 and 10pm at Bentleys Marsh Coppice, near Tedsmore

There will be sizzling sausages, shelter building and whittling.  Please wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and smelling of smoke.

You will also need a rucsac - which needs to contain:

1. An item of food to cook on your Patrol's campfire.
2. Survival kit - check out the internet for ideas
3. Coat and hat
4. Uniform shirt and necker - we will be having a Badge Presentation and Flag

Your special challenge for tonight to earn the first part of the Pioneers badge is build a shelter and secondly show you know how to tie 6 different knots - Reef knot , Bowline, Clove hitch, Figure of Eight, Sheet bend and a Slip knot.

We will also provide bushcraft knives so please don't bring your own (and any phones etc will probably not survive!).

The location is Bentleys Marsh Coppice, between Wigmarsh and Tedsmore. Copy and paste the links below for a map.

Follow the road  to Wykey from Ruyton XI Towns, past Packwood Haugh school, through Wykey and after a kilometre take the first turn right. Continue down this straight lane and Bentleys Marsh Coppice is on the right, look out for the sign. There is only a small pull in to drop off in so a rapid turn around please.

See you there for woodland survival skills adventures!
