Kayaking or canoeing are both elegant and fun ways to travel and explore the rivers here and around the world. Thanks to the lovely folk at Shropshire Paddlesport we have our traditional summer paddlesport sessions coming up on Friday 15th and Friday 22nd June.
The Troop will be split into two sessions, you may only attend one, this is to ensure we are safe on the water whilst you learn and practice your new watersports skills. Successful attendance at a session will earn you Paddlesport Level 1, for those of you who have Level 1 we will be running the Level 2 assessment during both sessions.

Session Donation is £10 per Scout payable on arrival - cash or cheque please to 'Boreatton Scout Group' - thanks.
Full set of dry clothes to change into after the session - spare kit to be in bag. Whilst afloat you will need shorts or light tracksuit troursers, suitable footwear - watersports shoes or old trainers, base-layer or t-shirt, light fleece, waterproof coat, sunscreen[ factor 30+] and a baseball/sunhat.
No electronic devices, mobiles etc please - as these will get lost in the canal, trust me I know about these things! If you wear glasses either use a spectacles tie like a Croaky or hand in to one of the leaders. Safety note - Do not jump into the canal from the bankside, the canal is very shallow.
