St Georges Day Parade.......Sunday 22nd April

Its that time of year for us celebrate the patron Saint of Scouting, Saint George, membership of our District and Scoutiness in general by parading through Shrewsbury behind our Drum Corps with the rest of the Shropshire Borders Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.  We will attend a service at St Chads and renew our Scout vow on Sunday 22nd April.

Please meet in Shrewsbury Castle forgate (front of the castle) at 1.00.  The parade begins at 1.40 going through Shrewsbury to St Chads where a service will start at 2.00.  The parade finishes at 3.10 in the Quarry park opposite where we will be formally dismissed.  Parents are more than welcome to follow the parade and there will be seating upstairs for non-uniforms.

Dress code is full uniform - ironed neckers and shirts with all badges sewn on!  Black or grey school trousers or skirt, black polished shoes.  No coats are allowed on the parade unless the Parade Marshall allows due to very heavy rain - maybe a parent could carry one for you if the forecast is bad.  Please also bring some change for the collection.

There are only 2 times during the year when your Leaders expect attendance - this parade and the Remembrance Sunday parade.  Please make every effort to come, it is quite a magnificent spectacle and you might get your photo in the Shropshire Star!
