Wasps and Bees final training session - Sunday 9th April 10 am to 4 pm
During the first Bank Holiday in May [28th April to 1st May] Boreatton Scout Troop will be entering two teams The Wasps and The Bees into the 2017 Six Summits Challenge. The Challenge involves 35 miles of trekking, 2 nights lightweight camping and a badge or two! The two teams know who they are now and this final training day is just for them. Don't worry if you are feeling left out of the adventure because If you are 12 next year we will be looking for our 2018 teams as soon as we come back!
Drop Off -
Please meet us at The Pines car park, Nesscliffe Country Park at 10am.
You will be working in your teams on your navigation skills, orienteering and emergency aid knowledge. During the day you will be trekking with all your kit, remember to pack for comfort and for all conditions.
Collection -
For end of day collection please come to The Hut at PGL at 4pm for the homeward journey.
You will need to bring the following as a minimum: Comfortable day pack, waterproof coat and trousers, warm hat, walking boots, walking trousers [remember NOT jeans] fleece jacket, base layer, gloves, spare clothes, mug, plate, spoon, knife and fork, energy snacks for the day, compass and water bottle. Pen and note book as you will be working on the route planning and menus for the expedition.
Finally can each Scout bring food to share to be cooked on the trangias for a lunch. This is to test your cooking skills and your knowledge of camp food.
