During the first Bank Holiday in May [28th April to 1st May] Boreatton Scout Troop will be entering two teams The Wasps and The Bees into the 2017 Six Summits Challenge. The Challenge involves 35 miles of trekking, 2 nights lightweight camping and a badge or two! You will need to be 12 or over by the Challenge weekend to be eligible and have attended at least two if the three training days. Training day No. 1 is this Sunday.
Please note All Scouts are welcome to attend the training sessions even if not eligible for the final challenge weekend. We will be honing our navigation skills, learning more about emergency first aid and lightweight camping techniques. Always useful for a life full of adventure!
For Sunday please meet us at the Llanymynech Heritage Area car park [Postcode SY22 6EZ] at 10am and back there at 4pm for the homeward journey.
You will need to bring the following as a minimum: Comfortable day pack, waterproof coat and trousers, warm hat, walking boots, walking trousers [remember NOT jeans] fleece jacket, base layer, gloves, spare clothes, mug, plate, spoon, knife and fork, energy snacks for the day, compass and water bottle.
