Darren's Winter Wander - best night hike ever!

Thanks one and all for the best of all Boreatton Scout night hikes! Despite the rain what a great night out! As the picture shows Wayne's Caff did brisk business and the Welcome Hut Brew Bistro was ready when the teams got safely back to The Hut well within the three hour time limit.

We did have a winner for the Montane Classic beanie and the answers are as follows:

1. First person to the North Pole on foot was Brit Wally Herbert, the two Americans Peary and Cook were fibbing!!

2. Roald Amundsen and team got to the South Pole first and their hard working dogs gave them the edge over the man-hauling Scott and companions.

3. The first person to climb all 14 of the over 8000m peaks in the world and ascend Everest without oxygen is Reinhold Messner [The Everest ascent was with his friend Peter Habeler]

See you Friday and please have a think about what you would like the Troop to get up to in 2017?
