Back to Bikes

Last year 10 scouts took part in a sponsored bike ride in aid of the Shropshire Historic Churches Trust.  http://www.shropshirehct.org.uk/rideandstride.htm  We had such a good time, I thought we'd have a go again. Hopefully we won't have quite so many punctures this time though.
It takes place on Saturday 8th September so that's after you start back at school but before scouts starts.
If you want to come please book a place so I know how many we'll have cycling.
We'll meet at my house in West Felton at 10-00am and aim to be back for 6pm if the weather good. I haven't planned the route yet but last year we stopped at the Maesbury cafe, cycled through the very deep ford (I took the bridge) and then stocked up with chocolate at the famous Knockin shop before spending an hour or so on the BMX track in Kinnerley. We can also hunt for a few Geocaches along the way if you fancy a treasure hunt.
You'll need to make sure you have a roadworthy bike. Last year road bikes proved to have less punctures but anything safe and comfortable to ride will do. You must also wear a cycle helmet (Scout rules). Other kit required is on the forms.
Please try and get about £15 sponsor money if you can. Half goes to maintaining old church buildings and half to a church of your choice. If you want to give it to your own church, you'll need to find out who's organising it. If you don't say it'll go to my church, West Felton. (Last year some went to XI towns and some to Baschurch too).
PS Parents can come too...
