Remember

We're doing first aid this week and learning how to bandage up minor damage - if you break a bone, bring it along tonight and we'll sort you out! Normal time - normal place.

On Sunday we have our remembrance parade. All scouts are expected to attend the - this is the one occasion where I ask scouts to prioritise scouts ahead of crucial rugby fixtures/shopping trips/lying in bed like a toad/EVERYTHING ELSE so I expect to see you all at the Admiral Duncan Car Park at 10:15 ready to form up behind our drum corps. There is limited parking at the Duncan so please park elsewhere and walk to our marshalling area. We are affiliated to the Royal British Legion which together with having the only drum corps in the county makes us quite unique! The parade will be dismissed at about 12:15 by the British Legion.

The explorers are coming too this year so we need a good turn out to show them how its done! All Scouts need to be smart with (clean and fully badged up) scout shirt, school trousers and (clean and freshly ironed) necker. Drum corpsmen need to wear the crossed drumstick badge and all rifle squad members need to wear their NSRA pin badge. All scouts should wear the RBL affliation badge. See me on friday if you do not have any of these.

Practice for the colour party is on Sat at noon at the church.

The drum corp are also doing a performance for the primary school at a concert on Saturday evening - they let us use their facilities for free so its nice to be able to join them for this (I hope they know how loud we are!

Finally, don't forget its our sponsored shelter-in-a-box next week! I hope you are all filling up your sponsor forms! We need to raise £25 per scout to buy our own box and can then see where it gets used! It's nice to be fundraising for someone else now we've got our hut sorted! In case you have not started (surely you have...) here's the form again.

I'll sort out consent forms and 'kit list' at the w/e (or soon after)

Finally Finally, please get your parents to vote on the summer camp poll on the last blog post - its just a click box but then I know what you guys want to do...

I assume we should be wearing a poppy on Sunday too?

I managed to get a huge cardboard box from the motorcycle shop. I think I should get a proper mattress in it. And it's got a one piece lid to keep the rain out!!!
