Phil, Pete and Jim get Certified!

Phil and myself and Jim (The Cub Leader) have just spent the weekend on a leader training camp where we've learned how to camp properly!
As you can see in the only photo I had time to take :-) The four instructors, left, are standing around chatting amongst them selves. Three trainees (including Phil) are working out how to fill a kettle. Paul from Bayston Hill is doing the fire dance and Colin at the back has given up and boiled his own water in the Ghillie kettle!

We had a great time... maybe we should do some more camping without Scouts!
Seriously, even though we've been Scout camping for many years we learned loads.
Now all we've got to do is organise a green field camp for Scouts, which will be checked out by one of the trainers. If they are happy with the standards, we'll be permitted to take you camping. That could mean we can camp more often.
A green field camp is one with a toilet tent, no showers, no electricity and some say no electronic devices.
