Splash, splish, ... we want to be fish!

I've booked up a couple of scuba sessions for the prog after half term! They take place on Thursday nights 25/2 and 4/3 at Wrexham pool - times and transport arrangements tba.

To have a go, you need a BSAC consent form which is a useful form (near the bottom). If you cannot make the medical declaration that you do not have asthma, you may still be able to dive, but you will need a medical from an approved BSAC registered diving doctor to certify that your asthma will not put you at risk (you will be breathing cold dry air which can affect some forms of asthma but not all...)
The medical referee will almost certainly be able to clear you for a try dive in a pool, but you do need their approval in order for the Wrexham Seals to comply with the terms of their governing body/insurance etc. In Shropshire, approved diving medical referees are:
Dr D Lowdon,Prescott Surgery, Baschurch SY4 2DR
Tel: 01939 260210
Dr P Wilmshurst,Department of Cardiology, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Mytton Oak, Shrewsbury SY3 8XQ
Tel: 01743 261108 (s)
Please let me know that you are coming and your preferred date asap so I can split the troop appropriately into two half troops. The other half will come caving, and now we've been doing this for a few years, we can get old Boreatton Scouts to come back and lead us in Llanymynech!!! I've asked Mini-Matt, Dan and Ella to come and lead us with their shiney new cave permits! (I wonder if they know what they're doing yet?). Then we swap over the following week, so everyone gets to dive and delve over the two weeks. Caving is great - I get to do my photography without light! ( and it doesn't matter if its not raining - you get wet and muddy in sunny dry weather too!).

Here's the vid of us last year... (the water's very murkey at Wrexham and you need to watch out for sharks and scouts in the depths...!)
