Woo Hoo - we won!
It was a bit of an 'against all odds' start to our competition as I forgot the cable for the screen and so we couldn't access the computer with all the stuff on, then we couldn't find the latest version of the project presentation (but did eventually, with seconds to go!).
The first go on the table with BERT3E was not good - we ran out of time and our hoop programme didn't work - I think everyone wrote us off as no hopers at this stage, but a bit of speedy reprogramming later and BERT3E was back in action. And much better! (apart from a tendency for wheels to drop off!!!) (ulp!)
Finally, everyone gathered to hear the result... everyone was very smart and sitting in neat rows with their teachers, so the scouts decided to paint their arms and do limbo dancing (!??!) - hmmm....
We got through to the semi final of the robot game!
Hurrah!
And then the final, against our nemesis from last year - the Kings school.... It was a tense affair - nerves evident on both sides.... then disaster! BERT3Es wheels fell off!!! Arghhh!!!
But BERT3E is a tough 'bot and struggled over the line strewing lego behind him.... WE WON!!!Winning the Robot game for the first time!!! And the directors trophy as overall champions!!!
