We joined the twinning group on Weds to have a day in the woods at the Troncais Foret and saw a barrel making demonstration (would have been better if they could have demonstrated how nice the contents were!)
We could see better from round here...
It was very interesting, but the temptation of all that sawdust lying around was too much
For lunchtime we piqueniqued, knocked down and rebuilt a shelter, mucked about...
Some frenchies were playing the french horn (the bugle like version for hunting) - hey we can do that!
And then afterwards we learned about the management of the oak forests to build french warships/hunted creepy crawleys, frogs, and salamanders (and found them!)
Finally, on the long (very long) journey back, three scouts earned their mayonaise awards by maintaining a loud and vociferous argument, for all the twinning group to hear, about how much they wanted mayonaise and ketchup for at least two hours after I had made it clear that it would only be allowed in the mess tent if I could be sure it was nut allergy friendly which I thought was pretty clear, reasonable and unambiguous (hmmm.... enjoy your sachets guys...)
