Another year behind us! This is the first year that scouts who joined at the same time as me move on to explorers and leave me behind (sob!). But we'll still see them on the SSGMG hikes, or in the Drum corps, or just here and there...
We wish them all a good time at Richard's explorer group or wherever they move on to - you've been great scouts - we've had a lot of fun and done lots together!

I was also very pleased to be able to award Mini-Matt his Chief Scout's Gold Award - he has joined in with every activity (and completed the work afterwards needed to earn the activity badges!). He has attended every troop meeting bar one or two, and been at every camp over the last four and a half years, so it is no coincidence he was in a position to go for the highest award available to scouting - well done Matt - an excellent start to Explorers having the Gold award to go on your explorer shirt! (and just in time - leaving it 'till your last meeting to complete the final requiement!)
It's the first Chief Scout's Gold Award Boreatton has presented for many years, but I hope to hold a few more of these ceremonies over the next year or two - everyone that puts in the effort can aim for this - just talk to Phil or me about the badges you want to work for.
