Thanks to all who turned out - we were the BEST!
It makes a big difference if everyone turns out, and especially thanks to the Drum Corps who were great and overcame my shortcomings as Drum Major. I hope you enjoyed it - several (4 actually) leaders from other troops came up afterwards and said how good it was and passed their congratulations to you! I was particularly pleased at the level of enthusiasm from one of the corp who manged to bash through his drum and needed a substitute drum at half time!!!!
We currently are planning to expand the drum corp so if you have ever wanted to be a rock star (drums) or are good at trumpets or cornet (bugeler), then let me know and you can join in! Drum tuition would normally cost £80 a term or something like that (instead of free!!! if you do it with me!!!) so over a year you could suggest that your parents buy you a PS3 and it would kind-of be for free (!?!).
Bridges and chaos on Friday - lets avoid the excessive exuberance of the last going up riot of passage and have a chilled suspension (bridge)...
This was one scouts eye view of procedings ... hmmm.... just avoid that transilvanean-lynch-mob-rampaging-through-the-forest-to get-the-monster burning brands kind-of feel to the proceedings and more of the rites-of-passage coming-of-age now-we-are-mature feel to the event maybe?
