Stars in their eyes

Phew - we all survived!!! It was definitely a night hike and very dark - I should have expected there to be no moon 'cos its my SAS meeting tomorrow! A good opportunity to do my photography without light... its tricky focusing and the exposures have to be very long but here's a couple of pics:

The floodlights and rockets provided a good 'apocalyse now' kind of feel to a bit of the Shropshire Hills for a little while, and Base Camp all worked out well thanks to stirling efforts by parents who I don't think realised they were volunteering until it was too late - thanks guys, you did a great job in the soup kitchen! Thanks too to Richard and his explorers who looked after us en route. It was great to have you along and we couldn't do this without you!
