Well... it was all about octane-fuelled adenaline-junkie petrol-heads, but in between there were other bits...
Dawn broke on the 20th with a very idyllic mist shrouded autumnal morning for the scouts to throw each other to the ground and otherwise compose themselves for the day...
It really looks as though scout camp can be a calm, retreat sort of thing... (?!?)
But no!!!
This was a limbering up team build activity, and the team building leader complemented us on how we were the most individualistic group he had ever seen (hmmm.....) scarilly high though!!!
Now that's why we are here!
...
Hamilton? where are you now?! - go Matty! go!
And after karting - a bit more team building before the quads... - this is the team that scored some points (as for the other team...)
...more team building - the blind leading the blind???
Ah - this is more like it ...
As I was sat on one, there are no pics of the quad biking, but I think FC could safely go for bulk buy on quad bikes this xmas - nothing like the quad bikes in circles at Boreatton...- we all want to go again!!
Day 2 and everyone was curiously less exhuberant first thing in the morning... Team photo before the trilobyte hike...
...then the hike...
(if you click to see the full res pic you'll see what a lot of us there are these days...)
... and finally Trilobytes!
What more could you want ? (a good night's sleep!)
It can be quite stressful taking this many scouts in amongst normal people, and does at time involve a degree of shouting, but I am pleased to say that again, a number of the yha residents complemented Boreatton scouts on being a particularly well behaved and generally nice bunch of kids - thanks everyone!
