As promised here is my last post of summer - we went to see the beating of the retreat by the Coldstrem guards, who had come to Shrewsbury to show the drum corps what they should be doing (and also perform at the flower show). I took lots of photos of guards quite close up, but by some trick of photography, they look like tourist photos of very small guardsmen in the far distance... Oh well, here's a pic of us instead - we were the first to see the guards arriving!
